Additional Shipping Information
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 13, 2019 at 06:47:20 PM

Hey War of the Worlds: The New Wave backers,

We have additional information on the boat shipments of War of the Worlds for other regions besides the US shipment we told you about last update. We don't have boat names yet in these cases, but do have better estimates on shipment timing.

Europe/UK Shipment

This shipment is due to be loaded onto a cargo vessel bound for the port in Hamburg, Germany later this week on August 16th. The current estimated time for it to hit port there is September 16th. After that, it's generally about 1-2 weeks for the shipment to clear customs and make its way to Fulfillment Europe's warehouse where they'll be sent to our European backers.

Australia/NZ Shipment

This shipment is set to be loaded a day earlier on August 15th on a cargo vessel bound for Adelaide, Australia. It's estimated to arrive in Australia on September 11th. After that, it's generally about 1-2 weeks for the shipment to clear customs and make its way to VR Distribution's warehouse there where they'll be sent to our backers in the region.

US/Canada/Everywhere Else Shipment

The latest updated position of the other shipment is from Friday and shows it heading past Japan bound for Vancouver, due to arrive there August 18th before heading down the coast. For those interested, you can search "Northern Justice" and find details that way.

After the Empire Now Live

One last quick note.... If you ever envisioned yourself as the lord of a mighty castle, we have a game you should be very interested in. After the Empire is a worker placement and tower defense game for 2-4 players that we just launched on Kickstarter less than an hour ago. Give it a look!

That's all for now!

War of the Worlds Shipping Update - Address Lockdown
over 4 years ago – Tue, Aug 06, 2019 at 11:13:33 PM

Hey War of the Worlds backers,

Just a quick update to let you know that a big portion of the games are officially on the water, bound for our warehouse here in the US.

If you'd like to follow along at home, they are on the Northern Justice.

Currently, that ship is headed for Busan in South Korea before making its way east toward the US. It's set to drop off our games in Seattle on August 20th. From there it'll take a week or two to ship from there to our warehouse here in St. Louis. We don't have an exact ETA on that delivery just yet. From there, we'll be fulfilling US orders, sending some games up to Canada to fulfill and sending out orders to the Rest of the World (shipping countries not specifically spelled out on the shipping chart).

I don't have sailing information for the games bound for Australia or Germany for fulfillment just yet, but expect to have that relatively soon. Asian copies should be ready to go out from VFI Asia shortly.

Final Address Lockdown

Because of how close we are to actually shipping, we need to lock down addresses for fulfillment sooner rather than later. If you've moved, please log back into BackerKit to update your address. We're going to be locking addresses in starting on August 20th in two weeks. If your address is not properly updated, you'll need to cover the costs of any reshipping necessary.

Thanks for your patience! If you have any questions, please email me directly at [email protected] .

All the best,

Beauty Shots - Gen Con Plans - Preparing to Set Sail
almost 5 years ago – Thu, Jul 11, 2019 at 01:57:25 AM

Hey War of the Worlds: The New Wave backers,

A very happy July to everyone. A couple of updates on timing for you on this fine Wednesday.

Beauty Shots

At Dice Tower Con, we received something pretty cool from the factory.... The first production copies of the game including the expansion! We dropped off one to the Dice Tower crew and took another back here to St. Louis for a photo shoot.

Here's a look at the base game...

And here's the Irish Sea expansion...

But of course, being Kickstarter backers, you'll want to see the exclusive goodies.... Check out the building holders in action.

And of course there's much much more....

Thanks for your support in bringing this amazing game to life!

Gen Con Plans

For those curious about this game and Gen Con, we wanted to fill you in on our plans for that show regarding this game.

Because we want to focus on Reavers of Midgard and Run Fight or Die: Reloaded, we're not going to be selling or demoing War of the Worlds: The New Wave at the show. That'll allow us to focus on the game at Essen in October (which should be well after backers have received their copies.

Please do come by and say hi though! We always love chatting with backers. We're at booth #2801.

Preparing to Set Sail

Copies of War of the Worlds are currently being prepared for shipment. We don't have a concrete date for when they'll arrive at the various fulfillment hubs. It's looking like an August/September fulfillment timeline for the US at this stage, with a September fulfillment for most others. We'll keep you posted as we get more details.

That's all for now!

Thanks,

Alex - Grey Fox Games

The Actually Nearly There Update
almost 5 years ago – Wed, Jun 26, 2019 at 02:37:01 AM

Hey War of the Worlds backers,

It had been a little while without hearing much on the manufacturing front, but we have now so here's an update for you fine folks.

A couple of updates ago we had mentioned that the game was estimated to be completed by the end of May. That proved to be true... mostly. War of the Worlds is actually being manufactured in two parts: the main game and the miniatures. The printer who handled the games wrapped up their work fairly close to the end of May. However, the miniatures proved to take a bit longer.

We've been informed that those miniatures have now been finished and brought over to the printer who made  the rest of the game. These now need to be packed inside before the games are shrink-wrapped and readied for shipping. We expect to hear that they have finished that work within the next week.

From there, the games will be shipped to fulfillment warehouses here in the US as well as Germany, Australia and China. The copies coming to the US should take about 5-7 weeks from time of completion to when it arrives here. The other regions are more variable and could be shorter or longer.

This means there's still time to change addresses in BackerKit if you've moved, but if you haven't filled out your pledge manager at all, you are way past when that should have been done. Please reach out to us at [email protected] ASAP.

Thanks for your patience! We hope our next update will be showing off a production copy.

Quick End of May Update
almost 5 years ago – Tue, May 28, 2019 at 09:52:41 PM

Hey there War of the Worlds backers,

It's been a little while since you've heard from us, so we wanted to get you an update, even if that update isn't a huge one.

The printer is still working on manufacturing the games at last check. This is close to the estimated time of completion, so we shouldn't be too far off now. When we have an early look at the game, we'll be sure to share it with you here.

Expansion Cards

While we're waiting, here's a sneak peek at a couple of the expansion cards... one for the human faction and one for the aliens.

Survey Reminder

As a reminder,  the deadline for filling out your survey has already long passed.

The vast majority of you (91%) have already filled out your pledge manager, but if you have not, please do so ASAP. Remember, if you have not filled out your pledge manager, we will have no idea where to send your game.

For international backers, any orders that have yet to be confirmed in BackerKit may be subject to additional shipping or customs costs.

If you're having any problem for whatever reason, you can reach us by sending a message or emailing us at [email protected].

Thanks for your support. We hope to be sharing better details on when the game will be leaving the factory soon.

All the best,

Alex - Grey Fox Games
